A Unique Seaside Retreat

Maison Dedine is a love letter to the sea, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the expansive blue horizon and an infinity pool that seamlessly blends with the ocean. Once the home of an adventurous painter and sailor, the hotel embodies a deep connection to the water, enhanced by the generous living spaces adorned with authentic Tunisian and Arabic art. Each room at Maison Dedine tells its own story of the sea and the local region, whether it’s through the rich navy tones of Hallou or the artisanal antique chairs in Bada.

A Tribute to its Namesake

Maison Dedine is named in honor of its original owner, the late Saad Eddine Sinaoui, a professor and son of a Sheikh of the Grande Mosquée Zitouna in Tunis. A passionate painter and sailor, Sinaoui personally designed the architecture of this seaside haven, resembling a ship anchored by the sea. Over seven years, he meticulously built the house stone by stone on the slopes of his muse village, Sidi Bou Said, overlooking the stunning Bay of Tunis, one of the most beautiful bays in the Mediterranean.

Every detail of this boutique hotel bears Sinaoui's signature, with each room named after a beloved family member to whom he was deeply attached. Forty years later, his daughter-in-law has infused the property with a touch of modern artistry, respecting the original structure while adding contemporary elegance.

Living History and Art

Staying at Maison Dedine is a privilege, allowing guests to inhabit a home with a profound history felt in the family photos adorning the entrance doors to each room. The perfect blend of historic local craftsmanship and an exceptional selection of modern and contemporary art enriches the home. The experience is akin to sleeping in a museum, or rather, living in one, as Maison Dedine is not just a luxurious place to sleep, but an experience to be sensed with all five senses.
